Electronics Technician / Assembly Technician
Location: Near Southwater, Horsham, West Sussex
Salary: £32,000 – £36,000 (DOE)
Our client is looking for an experienced Electronics Technician to support the assembly, testing, and repair of high-quality electronic products at their site near Southwater, Horsham. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone seeking a hands-on technical role within a well-established electronics manufacturing environment. The position is ideal for candidates with strong IPC-standard soldering, PCB assembly skills, and experience working as an Electronics Assembler, Bench Technician, or Electronic Repair Technician.
About the Role
As an Electronics Technician, you will play a key part in the production and maintenance of a wide range of electronic assemblies. The role involves precision soldering, mechanical assembly, fault-finding, and repair work, making it well-suited to individuals who enjoy working on detailed builds and ensuring products meet exacting standards.
Key Responsibilities

Assembly of electronic products, PCBs, wiring looms, and sub-assemblies.

High-quality IPC-compliant soldering (through-hole & SMD).

Diagnosing faults on electronic circuits and carrying out component-level repairs.

Interpreting wiring diagrams, PCB layouts, engineering drawings, and build documents.

Testing and inspection of completed units to ensure full functionality.

Supporting continuous improvement within the manufacturing and repair process.

Maintaining tidy, safe, and well-organised workspaces in line with quality standards.
Key Requirements

Previous experience as an Electronics Technician, Production Technician, Assembly Technician, or similar.

Strong soldering skills to IPC-A-610 / J-STD-001 or comparable standard.

Hands-on experience with PCB assembly, wiring, crimping, and rework.

Ability to fault-find and repair electronic circuits (desirable but not essential).

Good understanding of electronic components, schematics, and manufacturing processes.

Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

Ability to work independently or as part of a small technical team.
